I’m completely new to WordPress and something that you think will only take a few minutes can become more of a job than first anticipated. I wanted my posts to only show the beginning of the article (like this) and then have the option to read more. I’m using the Twenty Twenty theme and despite a good bit of rooting and trial could not find a way to do this. The nearest I got was having […] displayed but nothing would happen when I hovered over. More specifically I installed the Advanced Excerpt plugin and that did the trick! I know that there may be ways I could have done this without requiring the plugin but, hey, at least I succeeded in what I was trying to do.

As an aside, I’m not feeling comfortable with the new block editor yet and am considering to reverting to the classic plugin as that is what I used when I very first started investigating and trying out WordPress!
